Chain Bridge Native Landscapes (CBNL) offers sustainable, native, garden design services to clients in and around the McLean, Virginia area. The first step of every project is a conversation and/or on-site visit to discuss goals and options. Client projects range from full master plan designs to partial property designs. CBNL works with trusted installers to implement approved final designs.
A graduate of Georgetown University, Barbara Ryan, CBNL Owner and Founder, holds a Master's Degree in Sustainable Landscape Design from George Washington University, and is a Certified Virginia Horticulturist (VNLA) and Certified Level 2 Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP, Design and Installation). She also holds BA, MA, and PhD degrees in Economics from former endeavors.
In her spare time, Barbara volunteers as a Certified Fairfax Master Naturalist and Fairfax County Invasive Management Area (IMA) Site Leader, and serves on the Boards of the Virginia Native Plant Society, the McLean Trees Foundation, and the McLean Citizens Association, and as Chair of its Environment, Parks, and Recreation Committee. She also has been appointed to serve on the Fairfax County Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance Exception Review Committee.
