Chain Bridge Native Landscapes works on all project sizes, large and small, residential, community, and commercial, providing turnkey design-through-installation services, or helping you turn your own dream into reality by creating a design, supplying native plant material, and offering advice and assistance as needed.
Landscape Consultation and Garden Coaching
The initial step is always a telephone conversation to discuss your needs and goals, the landscape design process, and the potential availability of funds through local government rebate programs such as Arlington County's Stormwaterwise program and the VIrginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP). Following the initial telephone conversation, on-site landscape consultations are conducted as a first step in the design process or to provide garden coaching or assessment. The on-site consultation typically takes about one hour. During the visit, we will tour the site and discuss your sustainable landscape opportunities and goals and potential solutions. Consultations may be the first step toward achieving your goals or addressing specific challenges. On-site consultations can also focus on proper maintenance of sustainable landscapes.
Landscape Site Assessment
A Landscape Site Assessment is typically the next step in the development of a landscape design, and involves studying the on-site hydrology, topography, climate conditions, soil analysis, and existing landscape inventory. It frequently includes documentation and analysis of stormwater runoff patterns and volumes, sustainable landscape issues and challenges, and is key to identifying potential benefits of transitioning to a sustainable landscape. The end result is a scaled Existing Conditions Plan that highlights opportunities to achieve your goals.
Following the on-site consultation visit, landscape design services for all or portions of the property can be developed. No matter the size of the project, the landscape design process is tailored to each client. Generally a preliminary design is developed and shared with the client for review and feedback. The end result is a final scaled landscape plan with plant material lists and installation details as appropriate. Designs can be developed for specific areas or the entire property, and can be tailored to accommodate a turnkey installation service or to facilitate do-it-yourself projects. Communication with the client is critical throughout the design process, to ensure that the final product reflects the client's needs, goals, and budget.
Native Plant Procurement
If desired, we can provide native plant material per the developed design (small or large) for owner installation. Particularly for smaller projects, this can be a great way for clients to reduce costs and still achieve their sustainable landscape goals.
Installation Oversight and Coordination
Once the design is complete, we offer installation oversight and coordination with trusted landscape contractors.
